Bonjour Jérome,

Au passage ta page:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...onsume-features.html

est tellement peux en Anglais que je n'arrive pas à la comprendre :( [désolé]

So here are some questions, my friend whose site is www.mood-lights.com [a site I built for her 2-3 years ago] wants to offer Gift Certificates for the Holiday season this year.

Unfortunately, we don't understand how things are supposed to work/the workflow...

The NORMAL process here in the USA for a Gift Certificate is the following:

1. Person A comes to a site and buys a certificate for an amount they decide
2. Person A after having paid for Gift Certificate receives an email with a code, and then can choose to send to Person B
the email with the code.
3. Person B at their leisure can then go to the site and 'buy' something and use the Gift Certificate code as a coupon code.
a. if the amount of the Gift Certificate is HIGHER than the item being purchased, they have a CREDIT [how does Hikaserial/Hikashop handle that??]
b. if the amount of the Gift Certificate is LOWER than the customer just has to complement the missing amount with some payment method on the site right?

IF THIS doable with Hikaserial / Hikashop and HOW because the tutorials are sorry to say REALLY not easy to follow...

:)

HELP ;)

Bonjour,

Gift Certificates
But in your use-case, you do not need to use the HikaSerial consumption feature.

The first (main) Hikaserial tutorial have a special part at his end for the Gift Certificate.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/2...serial-tutorial.html

The goal is not to generate a serial which will be consume in HikaSerial but to create an HikaShop coupon code which can be use in the HikaShop store.
Thanks to the plugin "attach serial" you can create an image and the Person A will be able to send an email to Person B with the image attached.

HikaShop does not handle the point 3.a using coupon code. But it is possible to have something similar using the "user points" system.
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...57-using-points.html
It is not something I will recommend like that. The user points needs an activated account so the Person B should register on the website before having the right to use the coupon code (which will be a serial at this moment) and gain his points to generate discount.
