I have set up my shop and am happy with the way things are looking and working and want to upgrade to Essential even though the free version does everything I need just in order to donate in return for your hard and excellent work. Do I just buy this version download and install will all data and edits be maintained.

Many thanks

Hi,

Thank you for that. Yes, you can just install the commercial version over the free one all your data and settings will be maintained.

Since upgrading (although it maybe unrelated) when users click on proceed to checkout we get this message

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '!', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/clinitas/public_html/administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/user.php on line 443

Please help urgently - thanks

What do you have on that line ?

On our end we have the line: if(!empty($addressData)){
which doesn't create such problem.

Hi, I just upgraded to Essentials and some of my css styling for the checkout process was overwritten...

Am I to believe that the Hikashop css files should not be edited and instead one should make all changes to a new custom css file to avoid future overwrites?

Yes, you should change your CSS via the tab Display of the configuration instead of directly editing the CSS file. That way, you won't loose your changes when you update.
