Hi,
Can I just overwrite the view files or will they have changes going between the versions? With the back-end views editor is there a way to improve it for readability like notepad++?

You should redo your modifications via the interface in HikaShop. If you noted where you did your modifications, it should just be a matter of copy/paste. Then you will be able to update.
