Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for all of your help with the YMM search. Our programmer who built this, however, is no longer with the company. We are experiencing some issues and are trying to troubleshoot his code.

When we do a Year/Make/Model search, the results return correct. However, the when we then navigate to a product listing via category dropdowns, our results are incorrect. It looks like the YMM session that is created when doing a search is not being unset. When/how can we unset this? Would you be able to take a look at the plugin file and see if you can detect an issue?

Thanks for your help!

Wow. That's a lot of code.

From what you're saying, it seems that the problem is that the information is kept into the session of the user and reused on other pages where it shouldn't.
I indeed saw a few places where the session is used in the code so it must come from one of these. But then I can't give more precisions. The code is quite complex and I don't have all the context. You will have to debug it in order to find the problem. There is no easy way.

I have a client who needs something very similar MMcCarthy. Did you manage to get this working properly? Would you be interested in quoting me to do this for my client?

nicolas wrote: Hi,

You should be able to do that without any coding.
First, create custom fields of the table "product" via the menu Display->Custom fields for the year, make, model and enter the information for each product.
Then, create filters for each custom field via the menu Display->Filters following the documentation here:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...-filter-listing.html
That should put search filters on the products listing so that your users can easily browse your products.

That can only be done in the Business edition of HikaShop.

Nicolas, we are working on a solution for implementing year/make/model filtering on a website. My question is regarding products that fit multiple year/make/model. How would we accommodate that with the custom fields? Some products may fit a range of years for a particular model, other products may fit different makes or models.

Ideas?

Hi,

It depends on the custom field type you will use.
You can have a textbox like you can have a single drop down or a multi drop down.
It will depend on the structure you want.

1. The standard fitlers system of the Business edition can have search dropdowns and have them refresh with a functionality somehow similar (but a bit different).
2. Someone shared with us a custom module that can be used to do that. We still have to review it. If you want we can potentially share it with you. In that case, please use our contact form to request access to it with a link to this thread. It would still require the Business edition.
