Problems with Zones/Discount and Checkout

Hi,

I have two important problems that I can figured out:

1. Discount zone not working. I made a Zone 'Europe' and within this the different subzones with the european countries. Next I made a Discount "Discount Europe' with 10% and specified the Zone as Europe. This seems ok, but when I go to the frontend no discount is visible/ it does not work. ( I did get it working for 1 country Netherlands, then is shows -10% which is ok).?

2. Discount disappears form checkout when Login.
When I select a product with the discount -10% (for Netherlands). When I press Add to cart the discount is still there. But when I Login the discount suddenly disappears out of the cart and it shows the gross price without the discount (offcourse the Login country is same as Discount Zone Netherlands).

I have tried different settings but can't get it working.

NB. I recently purchased the Essential version, so it is the latest version.

2. Yes, both are the same. Main tax zone in the configuration is Netherlands. And also after login the address is Netherlands.
I didn't create new country zones.

I have a copy on my localhost for tests also. Can you tell me what file(s) needed adjustment so I can replace them?

I have tested and feel it is still not working as I would expect:
1. I changed in Configuration Main tax zone to 'another country' (choose Afghanistan, just some country outside Europe Zone which I have specifief). (Reason for this is I want setting without discount when first time users get to the website.) Now I clear my browsers cache. I go to the side and see pricing without discount, which is ok because now settings are outside Europe. Now, I login (with my account, whith my address Netherlands, inside Europe). The discount is not applied!! which is still wrong.
2. When I change the address to a country without a state (*) specified, it goes wrong. In this case it doesn't change settings (with/without discount) either.

Two other questions that I couldn't find in the forum:
3.Can I limit a discount to a currency? In other words I have a zone Europe and they get i.e. 10% discount when the currency selected is Eur and 0% when the currency selected is USD. (The Zone settings have a drop-down 'currency', which I tried).How can I do this?
4. Can I excluded a category of products in my discount? I.e. I want a discount for zone Europe i.e. 10% but I want to exlude Product Cat A. How can I do this?
