Inventory update on abandoned orders

My client has asked a very relevant question:

Noticed that when you are directed to PayPal the product is deducted from inventory prior to the customer making payment...if customer decides to abort the sale before they pay through PayPal our inventory will be off...wonder if there's a way to fix that to deduct from inventory after payment has been confirmed.


My answer was that they would have to manually change the order to cancelled and it would add back the inventory. Am I correct or is there some other way?

You're correct. However, there is an "automatic order cancel" plugin for HikaShop, which is already installed with HikaShop if you use one of our commercial editions, which will allow you to cancel the orders automatically. You can configure it via the plugins manager of joomla.
