Hi, we're looking into Hihashop as a replacement for JHShop for our JumpStart websites ( www.web-jive.com/our-services/jumpstart-websites.html ). One of our differentiators is that we also offer merchant services from Authorize.net. Does Hikashop use the AIM or SIM method for Authorize.net?

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. After playing with the product some more, there are still some areas that keep us from being able to use it like:

1. Doesn't have a guest checkout feature
2. Doesn't have automated shipping methods like UPS, USPS, or FedEx. You have to configure shipping manually
3. Product options seem to be handed by what's called variations (I may be missing this one)
4. Authorize.net uses the SIM vs. AIM method meaning no integrated credit cards

We'll keep a close eye on the progress..

Thx..

Hi,

1. in the commercial version, you can activate a simplified registration where you can just ask the user his email address and a user account will be generated for him automatically.

2. Indeed. Now, HikaShop has an open APi where anyone can create a shipping plugin.

3. Yes. We want to handle options (other products which can be real options like on dell's website) as well in the future.

4. Indeed. SIM has the advantage that it works everywhere, without having to setup HTTPS on your website. Now, it is possible to do a AIM plugin as well. Like for shipping plugin we also have an API for that :)

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks again for the reply.

1. Can you have both simplified and regular checkout?
2. Good to hear about the API but, not much time these days to code up a UPS, USPS and FedEx plugin :)
3. Hmm.. need to get my head around that a bit more
4. Disadvantage of SIM vs AIM is that it takes to off site to a payment screen and most people in the U.S. still don't trust that. Our research has shown a much higher cart abandonment when you don't accept credit cards on site like with the AIM method.

:)

1 Well you can have a simplified checkout or a regular checkout. Now you can't have both at the same time (?!) There is always only one checkout on a store, right ?

4 Yes, of course. In europe, most of the websites uses an external payment screen so we went that way for now. HikaShop is still young (1 month only) and we already added a lot of stuff since the first release. I'm sure we'll look at that in the future. We already have an interface to accept credit card information (not used yet), we just need a plugin to handle the transaction with the payment server.
