Transactions declined message

Hi,

I am NOT a developer, so please go gently. I've set up Hikashop on our Joomla website. I've purchased an SSL certificate and a merchant account with eWay. The client is an Australian, so transactions will be processed in aussie $$$. I've published the eWay plugin for processing.

During checkout, registration works OK, but after entering the CC details, I get an error "your transaction was declined...."

I'm not sure where to start with this. eWay? Hikashop? Joomla? I'd appreciate any advice/recommendations.

Hi,

That error message comes from the eway server.
What is the exact error message ?
If you activate the debug option of the eway plugin, do you get more information about the error ?
Such error will happen if you didn't set some of the options of the eway plugin properly for example. But it's hard to tell you exactly without more information.

error message reads:
•Your transaction was declined. Please reenter your credit card or another credit card information.

Eway plugin is setup as follows:
Currency: Australian $
Debug: yes
Verified status: none

The verified status should be set to "confirmed".
Could you do a screenshot of your eway plugin options ?

I set the "force SSL" option to yes.

I set the status to "confirmed."

Still getting the transaction declined message. We're using the free version. Do we need to upgrade?

I can see that your customer id is empty in the plugin. Did you hide it or you didn't enter it ?
That id is necessary for eway to recognize you. Otherwise, it won't accept the requests.

Also, you should ask eway support. They will be able to tell you exactly what is the problem by examining the logs on their end. But the plugin is working, it must be a setup problem.

Upgrading HikaShop won't magically solve the problem :)
