Hi all,

I want to register users on payment and put them in specific groups based upon what they bought.

Even for existing users if they buy product X can I put them in group Y or access level Z?

Cheers,

Mat

Is it possible to put them in multiple groups and remove them from other groups?

It will only work for one group per product.
However, if you really need it, you can trick the system by having option products ( www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...ct-form.html#options ) attached to your product, have each option product assigned to a group, and then hide the option area on the product page, the checkout, the invoice, the emails so that the options don't display. If you know PHP a minimum, it's feasible, otherwise, I would recommend against it or have it done by a professional developer.

I'm also needing assistance with the "User group after purchase" feature. We are selling a membership in HikaShop and need to have customers added to the 'member' group after purchase. They are successfully added to the member group, but they are also added to the Public group and are not removed from the Registered group.

So, before the purchase they are in the Registered group, but after purchase they are in the Public, Registered and Member groups. I need them to only be in the Member group after purchase. I'm not sure why the Public group is being added. The multiple groups assignment is causing permissions issues for Members.

Hi,

The plugin "group after purchase" just add a user to a group, it does not "move" the user from a group to another one.
You should use a specific plugin (duplicate the "group after purchase" one and modify it) to create your specific workflow.

Ok. I'm still not sure why the user is being added to the Public group. I do not have 'Public' selected in the "group after purchase" option and the users are not in the 'Public' group before the purchase either.

Hikashop does not add the user to any group besides the groups you define in the "group after purchase" option. It means that when the user registers, it is added to both the pbulic and the registered user group.

I have thoroughly tested this process, and a registered user is only added to the Public group after purchasing a product with 'group after purchase' set to 'member'. The user is not added to the Public group at the time of registration.

We are not able to replicate.
Which version of Joomla are you using and which extensions are you using on your website ?

After some additional testing I think the bug arises when a customer purchases a product that has 'group after purchase' set in conjunction with a product option that also has 'group after purchase' set. Maybe purchasing two products or a product with an option that have 'group after purchase' causes the issue?

Have the both products the same group assigned for after purchase ?
