Can not add or edit new shipping address

if I add a product to the cart then proceed to checkout, the checkout process works fine if i accept the same shipping address as the billing address. If I try to change the shipping address by un selecting "use same shipping address as billing address" I see the billing and a button to click so as to edit. If I click the edit button, the screen dims and the process freezes.
Hitting the back button aborts the checkout process and takes me back to the product add to cart page.

Hi,

I think that you have a javascript error, maybe due to your template or another component.
Can you give us a link to your website, so we can see if there is an error.

Try to install the plugin "jquery easy", maybe it can solve the problem.

There is a JavaScript problem, I think it's due to the component K2.

Can you try to use "jQuery Easy" ?

Ok, I have absolutely no idea how to use jquery, but instead could I simply remove K2? It came with the joomla install and I've never used it ...what do you think?

Hi Xavier,

thank you for your efforts here. Concerning my javascript conflict problem, this goes beyond my small amateur experience with web pages. Do you know of any competent professionals that could be mandated to solve this problem for me?

Regards,

Kevin

Hi,

The problem come from a problem with the modal function of Joomla, it's not related on HikaShop.
I suggest you to post your problem on the Joomla Forum.

You can try this link where you want on your website (in an article if you want) and you will see that nothing appear too.

<a title="popup" class="modal" rel="{handler: 'iframe', size: {x: 760, y: 480}}" href="http://www.avalanchesports.ch/">Modal POPUP</a>

SOLVED

For any who have the same problem:

Xavier was perfectly right that there is a javascript conflict.

I, however am an amateur webmaster building my own business website on a very low budget.

I don't have the competences to resolve the conflict.

I don't have the funds to pay someone to fix it (unless i have a low fixed amount to pay).

So, my solution was to disable components and try the address edit until I found which caused the problem:
I use a template called grid2 from Joomlabamboo. This was the culprit. So I am applying a different template to the hikashop part and it works fine.

Thanks Xavier
