Shopping cart tax and Paypal tax not syncing up

Hi,

I just had a client come back and notified me that the tax in the shopping car is not syncing up with the tax in Paypal. For instance, in the shopping cart it says the tax is $5.46, which is correct. However, once the user continues with the redirect to Paypal, the tax changes to $5.50. Is paypal just rounding it up or calculating the tax differently? How can this be fixed?

Hi,

Indeed, PayPal is rounding the tax incorrectly in some cases. The solution is to keep the option "send order details" to false in the PayPal plugin so that PayPal only gets the total of the order and not all the details of the order.

I am experiencing the same thing - Nicolas, what do you lose when you do not send detailed info. Does PayPal still receive which SKU got sold?

In such case, PayPal does not know which products were bought and how many. It only knows the order id.
