Hi,

I am trying to link a Joomla menu to my HikaShop categories without the products.

When I link my Joomla menu to menu type COM_HIKASHOP_CATEGORY_VIEW_DEFAULT_TITLE (This is how it's written when selecting menu type), it displays the menu but also displays the products. I edited the modules but no luck. I have tried the different setting in Hikashop and read the Documentation.

What I'm trying to achieve:
- link menu item to display all my categories
- once you click on a category, then only the products for the selected category should display.

Joomla 2.5.7
HikaShop Starter 2.1.2

Thanks.

Hi,

I think you followed the tutorial "Listing of categories with a menu".
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...html#categories_menu

Could you provide us some screenshots of your menu and modules configuration ?
It will help us to determine the problem in your configuration.

Thanks,

Hi,

In your "menu_item_hikashop_options" image, you can see that there is a module associated.
You have to click on the link "Click here to access the display options of the product listing".

At this moment you will see the module options. Module which will be display under the category listing.
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...html#products_module
You have to activate an option in this module : Synchronize with currently displayed item when possible
So the module product listing will display the products from the currently displayed category.
Otherwise, it will list the product from the configured category (the option just before).

Hi Jerome,

Thanks for your reply. I have been busy with another project and only got to this today.

I played around with the modules but I might be missing something.

Is it not possible to display the category listing without displaying an associated module. Please view attached images of my shop cart page. There are 3 categories and 5 products. I only want to display the 3 categories (Clothing, Accessories and Glassware). Only when clicking on one of the categories, should the products display in a new page. I hope I am making sense.

Regards,

Hi,

These products appear here because they probably are in the main category "product category".
To not have them here, you have to remove them from this category and put them in another category not listed in this category listing.

Thanks for all you help. Rookie mistakes by first time Hika shop user.

I didn't delete the default category when adding a new product instead just added the sub category.
