Hi,

You can edit the custom address field "address_company " to make it as a radio button field instead of a text one.
By default in HikaShop we do check on this field, if filled so the customer is a company if not so he is an individual.

So you have to restrict your tax rules to "individual" only, this way if the customer check the box company, not tax rules will be applied. You can rename the field as you want.

Xavier,

I'd like to jump in here. I am enabling/publishing the custom field "address_company" and changing it to a radio button. I'm doing this to try to make a tax exempt option for customers. However, on the checkout page, there is no radio button. I see the word "Company" but there is just blank space to the right of it. Do you think this could just be a css issue?

Nevermind my previous question. I have the radio button showing now. However, I am using Tax Cloud and wondering if the method you described above can be used with TaxCloud?

Hi,

TaxCloud plugin is overriding the tax system in HikaShop ; it is the goal of the integration to let the TaxCloud system have the control on the tax processing.

Hi Jerome,

Thank you for your reply. My client has now determined that the tax-exempt issue can be handled another way, so we will just let TaxCloud handle all of the taxes for the site. It truly is the simplest way and I really appreciate all of the help from the HikaShop team and from TaxCloud. Thanks!
