Prevent e-mail sending before payment is ready

We want an order-e-mail only when the payment succeeded.

Now we (and also the customer) get an e-mail directly after according the order in the checkout screen. The customer is being sent to the payment provider, but if the payment didn't succeed we don't want an e-mail.

Is that possible?
