-- HikaShop version -- : 2.5.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.3
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.4
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 39.0.3
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error message.

I'm using Hikashop Starter and gone through a lot of documentation and can't find what I'm looking for. We want to create a very simple webshop (therefore only the starter edition) with in fact three pages. First page the overview of the products (is ok). Second page where a user can fill out his name and address etc (but not login). And finally the logout page with the thank you message. This is all ok when I put the site in maintenance mode (Joomla) because I then have to login in Joomla to enter the site. Hikashop automatically fills out my credentials then. But when I open the site up, this step doesn't work any more. You have to login, but can't create an account. So I'm really stuck with the login part. If that is fixed I'm done.

People don't have to log in. They just have to provide their name and address for shipping purposes. That's the main clue. I hope this can be done in the starter edition (must be), but I can't seem to nail it down after searching for a day.

Hi,

HikaShop (starter) propose login and registration features during the checkout.

This is all ok when I put the site in maintenance mode (Joomla) because I then have to login in Joomla to enter the site. Hikashop automatically fills out my credentials then. But when I open the site up, this step doesn't work any more.

I'm sorry but I'm not able to understand that part of your message.

You have to login, but can't create an account. So I'm really stuck with the login part. If that is fixed I'm done.

If you already have an account (user/email + password) you can't create the same account with the same email.
In that case it means that you want to use "guest checkout" ; where you do not create Joomla accounts. But that feature is provided by commercial editions of HikaShop.
