Cart Limit

We need to limit the cart to one product, but not the the quantity of that product. In other words, the customer can only put one product in their cart, but can order as many copies of that product as they wish.

Can Hikashop be adapted to accomplish that?

This feature is not handled by HikaShop bu default.
But this can be done via a plugin, the plugin must use the function "onBeforeCartUpdate()", check the current cart content and add the product or not to the cart based on your needs.
