Hi

I'm trying to work out a checkout workflow to be as simple as possible for guest check out only, no login/registered users are required.

I'm pretty sure I have all of the correct settings ticked in my configuration but I can't manage to setup a single page checkout. I always see the guest 'required' email field which needs to be filled in before the 'next' button is pressed to then allow you to add an address.

Is there a way to have this all as a single page? e.g. on my page I would have

T&C's
Cart
Coupon
Email
Address
Payment Methods

I have all of this running fine aprt from the block of guest email.

Cheers

C

Hello,

The Guest form will be displayed through "Login" action of your checkout workflow that you can control via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout", to do what you want you'll just have to 1 step checkout workflow with the "Login" action at the top.

Best regards,
Mohamed.

Hi Mohamed

Thanks for the reply.

I believe that option is already in place but the output isn't a single page. See attached screengrabs

Hello,
What do you exactly mean by "the output isn't a single page" ? The Guest email field is in the same page as the other checkout actions, the only difference is that you'll HAVE to add your email.

The Guest email must be filled in then the 'Next' button clicked which then takes you to another page to fill in the address, I can see no way to have all of the required info on the same page.

I've mocked this up using a combination of the 2 pages so you can see exactly what I'm after. Basically just a single checkout page as per the screenshot with terms, cart, coupon, email address, postal address, payment. I can see no way to do this in Hikashop?

Cheers again

Hi,

That's actually how it is by default. You don't see the address fields on the same page because you turned off the "Ask address on registration" of the HikaShop configuration.

Outstanding. Easy when you know how.

Thanks for the guidance.

Actually, hold that thought. Even setup correctly there is still a next page where addresses are asked to be confirmed or a shipping address added. I'd prefer this address edit area didn't exist at all..

Similar to this thread where they have the same issue: www.hikashop.com/forum/checkout/874042-h...in-address-step.html

It doesn't appear that there is an option for a simple one page checkout in Hikashop, maybe it's something worth looking into for future versions? I've had to revert to using paypal express for now. (which has the side effect of making the T&C's tick box pretty much redundant)

Cheers

Hi,

Well, you have to go through validating the email/address before then confirming the order.

We're working on a new checkout system which will allow for more flexibility and have a one click checkout but it's not necessarily the best in terms of user interface. I often recommand to look at amazon. They are the biggest players, and tried many things to optimize every piece of their website. Still, they ended up with a checkout in several steps.
