-- url of the page with the problem -- : future-is-now.net/index.php/en/shop/cate...6-fin-natura?popup=1
-- HikaShop version -- : 3.2.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.1
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.38
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : firefox 56.0.2

Hi there, since the update to the latest Hikashop version, the "proceed to checkout" button does not work on the same page, only when the page is opened in a new tab. Is there any way I can fix that? Force SSL is set to no and I've followed all the other instructions I was able to find in different threads but nothing fixes it. The only payment plugin activated is bank transfer. It was all working perfectly before the update. Thanks for your hlep!

Hello,

Which version number where you using before the update ?

Regarding the URL you gave, it looks like you're using the add to cart legacy mode ; it could be good to see to migrate to the new "add to cart" system and publish the plugin "cart notify" in your Joomla plugin manager (and configure it to use the "popup" mode to get the same behavior than before).

But regarding your issue "does not work on the same page", I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're talking about.
Can you please clarify ?

Thanks, Jerome, for your reply. Before the update, I was using the version 2.6.2.

Te cartnotify plugin is activated. The problem with it is that, although I've increased the autohide delay, it disappears very quickly.

What I meant by "on the same page": when I click the checkout button after having chosen a product, nothing happens. But when I right-click and open in a new tab, it works.

Hello,

I do not have that issue in your website.
Yes, the popup disappear quickly but you can still increase the delay (regarding the explanations in the configuration documentation).

Afterwards, I would recommend you to use the new "add to cart" system and not the legacy one, which you're currently using.

You mean, when you click the checkout button in the left column of the page, it works? I have the issue on two different machines in two different browsers. Very strange.

I suppose you mean I should set the cart notify plugin to add to cart button? In fact, it doesn't matter what I do in that plugin, it makes no difference. Neither display location nor display position nor autohide delay change in frontend when I make the changes in the plugin, not even with a hard refresh. I've managed to extend the autohide in configurations, that's a workaround. But if you could let me know where, other than in the plugin, I need to change to the new add to cart system, that would be greatly appreciated. (I found information on that functionality itself but not on how to activate it.)

Hello,

I can click on the "checkout" button in the popup or the one in the cart module ; I am redirected to the HikaShop checkout yes.

The "cart notify" plugin is just for the new add to cart system.
You're still using the legacy mode, so the plugin is not used at all.

Hello Jerome

I too am having the problem. I would be happy to stop using the legacy version, however, I can not get the "add to popup" working when you add a product to the cart. With the legacy version turned on the site works perfectly apart from the fact that the "Proceed to checkout" button doesn't. Open in new windows it works fine but not if I click on it. Could you help either way.

Hello,

1 - Your website is using the legacy system.
2 - Please read explanation in my previous message if you want to get the popup notification using the new cart system.

Hello Jerome

Exactly, I attempted to use the new plugin, however, nothing happens. It just goes to the checkout or nothing. There are no error messages. I have read the documents on it however I am unsure where to start checking out the problem.

Many thanks

Hi,

You need to turn off the "add to cart legacy" setting if you want to use the new add to cart system and the new HikaShop cart notify plugin.

Please do that and it should help.

Hi Nicolas

Yes, that was the first thing I did, then I turned on the plugin.

Hi,

But I still see the old add to cart buttons on your website.
So that means that you have some old view overrides in your template, preventing you from seeing the new add to cart buttons.
You'll have to rename the files in templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/product one by one to see which one is doing that.

Hi NIcolas

Okay, I renamed the files with the only effect that I loose the minicart all together. I even went so far as to delete the html/com_hikashop/product folder to ensure that it wasn't looking at it. I checked on a website through VPN to see if it was a problem also on a new machine as well.

Where to from now?

I have left the product folder removed.

Hi,

Great, I now see the new add to cart buttons.
The ajax process works too.
However, since there is no HikaShop cart module on the page and that the HikaShop cart notify plugin is not activated, the system falls back and redirect to the checkout.
If you display the cart module, or enable the plugin, then it won't redirect to the checkout directly.

Hello

Thanks for that, however, the Notify plugin was already enabled. I have also added the cart module to the sidebar, was already shown in the top nav (location Cart) however this doesn't make a difference to the add to cart popup. Where to next?

Hello,

If you take a look at the page source code you'll see that there is no inclusion of the JavaScript file for the cart notify plugin.
Without JS ; you can't have any notification.
And if there is no JS trigger which reply to the event ; the fallback automatically send the customer to the checkout page.

Hello Jerome

Thank you for that, why wouldn't the plug be including the JS?

The legacy version works perfectly apart from one link to the checkout from the mini cart.

I would really really really like to get this all working.

Hello,

I think it's related to your template cache system.
But I can't explain why it cache some things and not other (like hikashop.js)

Hello Jerome

Okay, I have flushed the cache and it updates perfectly now, however, there still is no Notification and also the mini cart dropdown doesn't work. I am more than happy to pay for some of your time to get this sorted as I really don't know where to start looking.

Hi,

You now have the notify js file loaded in the javascript cache of your template, however, you reverted the modification you did here www.hikashop.com/forum/checkout/892550-p...p-update.html#287365 and because of that, you're again using the old add to cart buttons which don't work with the notification plugin.
