Can't get the either of the paypal plugins to work?

Hi,

In what way the normal PayPal plugin doesn't work ?
Do you see it on your checkout on the frontend ? Can you select it ?
Are you able to finish the checkout with the "finish" button ?
Do you get redirected to PayPal after that ?
Do you see the credit card form ? Are you able to validate that form ?

I tried to check your website, but to proceed, I need to login, and to login, I need a user account. But after registration, I didn't get the activation email to activate the account, so I couldn't move forward.

i have activated your account.
When you click on process payment(finish). When redirecting to paypal is where things are broken. You should be able to test now with the user you created.

Hi,

There was no password field on your registration form. And since I didn't receive the activation email, I also do not know the password for the user account.
So I'm still not able to check on the situation.
Could you please reset the password of the user account ?
Could you also provide a screenshot of what you see when you reach PayPal ?

Hi,

Thanks, I was able to login now.
However, I still couldn't finish the checkout.
I got an error with no shipping methods found:

I'm not sure why as I've even tried using a real address.

Thanks for the screenshot. This is a generic error message saying that something is wrong with the data sent to PayPal. But it's hard to say why exactly just like that as PayPal doesn't provide details on the issue.
There are two things you can do:
- activate the "debug" setting of the PayPal payment method and try again.
Then, check the "payment log file" under the main tab of the HikaShop configuration. You'll have debug data displayed which will help us understand what's wrong as we'll know exactly what was sent to PayPal if you provide the logged data.
- contact PayPal's merchant tech support and ask them to check their logs for your merchant account so that they can tell you what is wrong with the data sent to PayPal. They'll be able to say directly what is the problem. But the hard part will be to get in touch with someone helpful on their end.

Your response has thrown up more questions than answers. I'll go through fixing the initial issue first though.

i can't find a log section. i have enabled the debug within the payment plugin.

With regards to your registration. does the email address you registered with exist? Because an activation email was sent with a password?

Another point, how did you add a shipping address?

Hi,

The payment log file is a setting available under the Files section in the main tab of the HikaShop configuration page:

Regarding the registration:
The email address exists yes.
First, check the menu Customers>Emails history. There, you'll see the emails sent by HikaShop. If you see there my "user account" email, with the activation link, which you should, it means that HikaShop sent the email to your email server and it accepted it.
If the email didn't reach my mailbox, it means that the email was flagged as spam for some reason or there was a technical problem on your email server.
For that issue, there are also several things you can do:
- first do a test yourself with one of your email addresses. Do you receive the email ? If yes, then maybe your hosting email server was flagged as spam by my email server and not by your receiving email server. If no, it's probably that the email was flagged as spam on your hosting email server.
- I would recommend to use www.mail-tester.com/ to make sure that the emails are correct and that everything is setup properly. It's often the case that DKIM and/or SPF is not configured properly on the domain name, which leads to the email servers flagging the emails as spam and discarding them.
- contact your hosting support where your email server is and ask them what happened to the emails. You can do a screenshot of the email details in the email history to give it to them so that they can check the log of the email server for information on the issue.

Finally, regarding the shipping address, I entered it during the registration on your checkout. Why the question ?

Thank you for your help. i figured out the paypal issue. When sending certain variables to paypal. that would trigger the problem.
