Adding color selector to the characteristics

I don't know much about php(I am programming with asp.net),but I like to add java script color picker to the characteristic section and in the front end instead of drop down for the color i like to show color squares.
I'm wondering if you can tell me which files should i modify?

Just wondering if you were able to get this to work by doing the override....I am trying to set product sizes with color squares and I like how you have your sample page set up...

I talked to my customer and she was okay with the drop down.But you can just hide the drop down and base on the values of the drop down and with the help of Jquery or java script show the colors in the little squares.the right way that i'm trying to develop it for myself is have the plugin and module at the backed and front end,In the back end customer should have color wheel so he can select the color and at the front end It should be squares and by clicking on the squares the picture should automatically change to that color too.

Wondering if Hamidre or anyone else got the color picker working.. would be great if you could share your code!

If there's no other solution i might try the jquery way, but preferably it is done via an override, especially if you made an integration into the backend as well!
