Shipping Cost Calculator Australia Post

Hello,

I did a quick search to see if anyone else has requested this - would love to have a shipping calculator at the checkout that doesn't require the customer to enter in their whole address, just the postcode.

Thanks :)

I see what you mean. The solution would be to create a module which would ask for the post code (and potentially the country/state as an option) and display the listing of shipping methods. That way, you could have it anywhere on your shop. So it's not really related to Australia Post, but a more global thing.

Iherb does a good job of it here: www.iherb.com/

Hi, Has anybody developed a module like this yet? This would allow the customer to easily see the total delivered cost on the product page. It has been proven that if a customer has to search for important information they are more likely to abandon cart.

e.g. ebays product listing page has the shipping cost right there in front of you if you are signed in. Many ebay listings have a post code calculator on the product page, When I started to do this, customer questions reduced and sales increased.

I believe that after all of the great work on hikashop, This is a very small improvement that could increase sales dramatically, I believe module like this should be on every shop.

Now, I'm not sure about anyone else but my website is my business and my main concern is preventing people from abandoning cart.

I would like to pay for this module, Can anybody point me in the right direction to somebody who has the ability to do this?

There has not been any module yet for that. We've actually had more requests on other things so we focused on other parts of HikaShop until now.

At the moment we're focusing on the next release of HikaShop, the multi vendor support and joomla 3.0. On top of that some of our team is in vacations for the summer. So we can't work on such projects until at least a few weeks. The guys at Polished Geek seem interested on working on such developments so I would recommend you to contact them:

We will be happy to answer any questions they, or anyone else working on such module, would have.

I was wondering if anyone has ever created an Australia post shipping cost estimator extension for Hikashop as suggested in this topic ?
An estimator that doesn't require the shopper to be registered or logged in, just to get a shipping estimate based on their postcode or country.
This is becoming very common on many sites now, so the casual shopper can add products to a cart and then quickly get a shipping cost estimate, before they go to the trouble of registering and adding all their name & shipping address details, just to get a shipping quote.
Just like this one for the VM cart.

Yes I have that installed Jerome, but it doesn't work in the manner as described in the previous posts, hence the reason for this topic.
I have made a start on creating my own module which will not require a shopper to be logged in, just to get a freight cost. I Just have to figure out which existing hikashop function I can "post" the postcode to and "get" a freight cost return from.
Cheers.
Shane

Hello,
We had a lot of project so we didn't had the time to work on it.
Note that if you really need it now, you can actually ask to a third party developer to develop it for you.
You can for example find a developer via our commercial jobs forum : www.hikashop.com/forum/9-commercial-jobs.html
