Wrong discount being displayed

I am having some odd issues with discounts on products. I have a series of discounts, each applied to a single product, essentially putting those items on sale. The problem is the discounted price is wrong.

For example I have an item that has a price of $12.95. There is a discount assigned to the item of $3.00. The discounted price should be $9.95, but it is coming out as $10.14. I thought at first that maybe it was applying the discount to the product price with tax, but that would come to $10.84, not $10.14.

This is happening with a slew of products, not just this one.

Anyone have any thoughts? Do I have a setting wrong causing the discounts to calculate differently? Or is this a bug?

It's not a bug.
It must be cause of the way you configured the discounts/taxes. For example, in the configuration, you have an option to apply discounts before or after taxes. That will change the price of products with taxes since the amount of tax will be different.
Hard to give a more precise solution without knowing how you configured your taxes/discounts.
