Use a coupon to add gift product

Sending an email containing the code of the coupon to your customer will probably do the job, all he'll have to do is adding that coupon code through the "Coupon" step of your checkout workflow that you can manage via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout". No, i want that if a user insert a coupon a new gift product is added to order with price 0 and the user can obtain it.
I've created a coupons with 100 % price and restricted to a product but when i insert it in the checkout order, no new product are added, instead a discount price are sustract from the price.
I want to add a gift producto to and order with the insert of code.
How i can do it ?
