DEFAULT VARIANTS exist but not linked post-import

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.5
-- PHP version -- : 5.5.24
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : All browsers
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : 1-HIKA_NOT_DEFAULT_VARIANT

This problem is a flow-on of the previous problem, where re-import of default standards caused strange effects on the pricing. See for this my previous post in this category: hikashop.com/forum/import-export-csv-xls...roduct-variants.html

Now after attempting to remedy the pricing problem, the standards have disappeared from view. This caused major problems on the front end webshop, where customers seem forced to accept a high price due to being forced to accept most extra options with the guitar kits. See the link: www.valkyrie-guitars.com/en/webshop/prod...-c-m-bird-style.html

If we try to add a new standard variant to the list of variants, the system doesn’t accept it at all. Presumably because the system can see under water that it in fact does still exist.
How can we get out of this bind?

Hi,

When you import a CSV of variants, you're also supposed to import the main product along with them, and you're suppose to have the product_code of the main product in the product_parent_id column of the variants.
That's actually what you have when you export a CSV of the products.
I would recommend to base yourself on the export CSV in order to build your CSV for the import.

Yes, we exported the variants, changed the prices and reimported them. They were already existing, it was only to change the prices.

Hi,

Sure but even so, you need to include the main product in the CSV, like it is in CSV that you export from the export button of the products listing.

Hi,

I'm getting this error without having done an import. I get this from creating a product from scratch ?

See attached screenshot

Thanks

Danny

This may be a different problem, if there is no import opr export involved. Perhaps start a new discussion, to get better response? Is there an existing default variant assigned yet?

Hi,

On the variants listing where you did your screenshot, there is a column "default". There, you need to click on the icon for one of the variants so that it becomes the default variant of the product.
