-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.9 and latest

Hi,
I would like to update my site and take all Hikashop settings from the old to the new site ...
I'm doing a full new installation of both Joomla! and Hikashop.
However, I have some special fields and a lot of products in my shop.
Is there a way to export the old Hikashop settings and products and then import them into the new site?
I tried the regular product export and import but it seems to have a problem with the extra fields I have installed in the old site (not in the new one).
Thanks for any help ...

Hi,

The best solution would be to update your HikaShop version on the old website first.
Then install the new site with the newest version of HikaShop, that way on both sites HikaShop has the same tables and columns in the database.

And then export/import your database for HikaShop tables from old website to the new one.
Be careful regarding the Joomla users during the migration, their IDs must be kept during the migration else there could be some issues.

And of course, it is always a good thing to do backups and work on dev environment. :)

I am in a similar situation. However, I am told if you update my Hikashop on the old site it will break. Is there a way for me to just export all my coupon data from the old site and import it to the new site? I am not sure where the export/import function is. Thank you.

Hi,

Why would updating HikaShop break the website ?

Anyway, you can export/import the content of the table hikashop_discount via your PHPMyAdmin if you just want to migrate your coupons.
