Indeed, custom product fields allows you to enter information related to the product in the product edition screen. Then, your customers can see that information on the product page.
If, on the other end, you want to ask your customers information on the products they are being, you should create instead custom fields of the table "item". These custom fields will be displayed on the product page. You can only create these with the Business edition of HikaShop.
