Shipping Price/Product variants problem (Resolved)

Hi

I have installed the new version, 1.5.8.

The new plugin "HikaShop Shipping manual - Prices per product plugin" works brilliantly on top level products, but if you set the shipping price on the parent, the price is ignored on the variants. This means that you have to set the price for every single variant, even though that should only be an override if set. The behaviour is not the same as product price, which I believe is incorrect.

Otherwise an excellent addition.

Regards
Mehdi

Hi esotechie,

On my end Prices per products work on variants too, are you sure that you have set a weight for your products ?
If you created variants after have set the weight on the main product, all your variants will have a weight of 0, so no shipping cost.

Hi thanks for the reply Xavier,

I am getting a shipping, just not with the correct pricing. The shipping value for the parent product is not added for the variant. I tried and adding weight to the variant does not change anything.

e.g.
Manual Shipping method 1:
Price: 1.00
Use the prices per product: Yes
Include virtual products price: Yes
Product:
Shipping prices: Manual shipping method 1
Min quantity: 1
Price: 5.00
Fee: 1.50
Variant:
Shipping prices: Nothing added

I expect to get 7.50 for Manual shipping method 1 in checkout, but I get 1.00. If add the shipping price to covariant it works as expected and I get 7.50.

Therefore I believe that the variant is not taking the parent shipping details as default but relies on information specific to the variant which should only be override if the variant differs from the parent. Or am I missing something?

Actually you have to set the shipping price for all variants.

HikaShop don't duplicate this price for the variants.

Hi,

Try to use that version of the plugin. It should handle that now.

Thanks Nicolas for your usual speedy response :)

It kind of worked. It now gets the price from the parent product if there is no shipping on the variant, but only gets it once. If I have more that one item, or two different variants from the same parent (e.g. one small and one large) the price is only the total value for one product and does not increase with each additional one added.

Thanks again Nicolas.

I need to double-check what the total should be:

Manual shipping price: 1.00
Price per product: Price: 5.00 + Fee: 1.50

1 item = 7.50 (which is what I expected)
2 items= 12.50 (I expected 14.00)
3 items= 17.50 (I expected 20.50)

So is the rule that the fee is only added once? or is this an error?

Yes, the fee is added only once. That's a flat fee for the total items of that product, while the price is multiplied by the quantity.
So your results are normal.

Brilliant.

Thanks Nicolas. As long as I know the rule.

Thank you very much for the quick response to fix this. I really appreciate it.
