Products in Categories invisible upgrading to J2.5

Hi All,

After a largely successful Joomla 2.5 upgrade. Most or all of hikashop settings migrated successfully. However, when I now choose a category, the products are not visible. The product listings work as expected however. I can see the missing products. Anyone have any suggestions?

I couldn't find that URL on your website.

It's not filter_id but cid that you should use in your URL above. Then it works fine:
www.windowfanz.com/index.php?option=com_...&type=product&cid=19

Thanks for your response. I had moved that website to a subfolder called windowfanz2.5 as I wasn't getting it to work. I have moved it back online. If you cannot look at it shortly please let me know, and I will schedule a time to put that site back up. I have a admin account for you and I will PM the details. Thanks for your help!

I think that the problem come from the associated module of your menu.
It's should be set as product listing.

Try to edit you menu, then click on the associated module and see if it's well configured to display products.

You are correct. Setting up a new menu item and pointing it to the category listing, works. Something, however, changed between Joomla 1.5 and 2.5. Here is what I had:

1. An image map of the USA, and each state had a hyperlink to the category:
Map here: www.windowfanz.com/index.php/collegiate-54

An example of that hyperlink for Georgia (GA) was:
<area mc_name="US_GA" title="Georgia" file="target" target="_parent" url=" www.windowfanz.com/index.php?option=com_...e=georgia&Itemid=222 ">

2. Currently under this scenario, I have created a menu item called "test" and linked it to that category. Now indeed, the category does open, but the only way I can get to that page is:
www.windowfanz.com/index.php/test

3. How can I hide this menu item, or preferrably get a direct hyperlink to the category like before. Is it because I have SEF turned on and that's why the full path is hidden?
