Shopping Cart Module displaying incorrectly

After the update of both joomla to 3.2.1 and Hikashop to 2.2.3 there seems to be a new problem
(but issues with user registration seem to have cleared - which is wonderful)

When a product is added to the cart, the cart display module shows the header etc of the Joomla site (rather than the cart
If you browser reload or move to another page, the cart content shows OK

and one other issue that may be connected to this
when the cart is 'emptied' after having had items in it using the module (ie clear all items); the content area re-loads with a system message (at the top of the content area for me) "Items you add will appear here"; and shows just 3 seemingly random products down the page, rather than the normal layout; with a page title of 'product category'

Did you applied some modifications through your "cart" file of the "product" view of your front-end template via "Hikashop->Display->Views" ?
