-- url of the page with the problem -- : 173.83.162.90/index.php/bbjj-shops
-- HikaShop version -- : latest free version (just installed it)
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.17
-- PHP version -- : 5.3 (I think hosting company doesn't show it)
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox 26
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error shown, just don't get an email

Hi All, sorry if this is a repeat I tried searching for anything related but all I got was tons of stuff about email but not about it not coming in. My joomla setup email works fine. I get an email when I register from Joomla itself, and I get an email when I test the email config (with one of the testing plugins), but nothing comes from Hikashop so I can confirm my registration. I'm not sure what to look at. I messed with some of the configuration options but it didn't make a difference.

I really like hikashop and want to use it but I need to get past this one issue.

Also, I did find out some of the options don't work right in the configuration setup when using firefox 26. I was trying to change the columns, and # of items displayed but whenever I clicked to save the config it would revert back to blanks. I did the same in IE and it saved the config so not sure what's up there.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Craig

Hi,

If you get the registration email of Joomla and not the registration email of HikaShop, it means that there is an issue with the Emails settings of the HikaShop configuration. I would recommend to contact your hosting company and check with them that this section of the configuration of HikaShop is configured accordingly to their requirements.

Does Hikashop use the default methods setup in Joomla? I have the same settings in Hikashop as I do in my joomla setup. The only difference is in joomla I can set to 'smtp' and put the authorization for logging into my mail server. Are there any logs I could look at to see what is going wrong?

Thanks!

Hi,

HikaShop uses the Joomla email library to send its emails.
However, the HikaShop emails usually contains HTML (so that they look nice) while Joomla emails do not. Email servers have sometimes a heard time to send properly HTML emails as they don't always support all the functions of the email specifications. For example, the multipart option of HikaShop, if turned on, sends both the HTML and the text version of the email in the email so that the email client can use one or the other (that's quite common) to better fit the display of the receiver. Joomla doesn't have that option since it only sends text emails. That can sometimes be a problem for some email servers.
That's why I asked you to check these settings with your hosting company.

If you didn't get any error on the page where the email was sent by HikaShop it's either:
-that your template is not displaying error messages: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/6...tibility-issues.html
-that your email server said that it accepted the email but then was not able to send it to the receiver email server. In that case, you can look in the email server's logs for the error (you might need to ask that to your hosting company if you are not the one managing the email server).

Thanks! I just enabled all of the options and it's now sending email. Not sure which it was but I'm not going to mess with it now that it's working lol.
