Cannot set Default Captcha in Global Configuration

-- HikaShop version -- : 3.5.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.10
-- PHP version -- : 7.0.30
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Safari, google, Firefox latest
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : No error from debug

We are about to start using Hikashop for customers.

1 - On a test site we noticed after installing Hikashop Essentials there is a Hikashop Captcha plugin but the Joomla supplied plugin is no longer there. Is this normal that Hikashop installs its own captcha plugin and removes the default Joomla plugin?

2 - The "Default Captcha" box in the global configuration is now greyed out and we can't select a default captcha. Is this normal? Any ideas what would cause this if this is not normal? Can you suggest how to fix this?

Hi,

1. HikaShop doesn't install any captcha plugin and doesn't delete any plugins.
The only captcha plugin we provide is not included in HikaShop and is available here:

2. If the captcha plugin of Joomla was deleted it's normal that this option is greyed out.
Note that with our recaptcha plugin, you don't need the Joomla plugin and you should keep it unpublished and that option set to "none". Our Recaptcha plugin will work for both the HikaShop registration form and Joomla's registration form.

Thank you.

The problem was for some reason the default joomla captcha plugin was listed as not installed properly. We had subsequently put the Captcha the Hikashop folks on. So found a way in Joomla to reinstall the Joomla one and all fixed now.
