Setting search item order - PLEASE IGNORE, SOLVED

PLEASE IGNORE - I think I've solved and can't see how to delete

Hi there,

I posted a similar question to this on Monday and had a response that i though worked.... but it doesn't.

I'm posting again, hopefully to save confusion.

On my website:

I've set up a custom field in the back end called "order"

I'm putting a number in here 1 to 4 so that I can return search items in order of priority.

No matter what I do - I only seem to get searches in product code order.

I've tried changing the setting in configulration / display / default parameters for products and selecting my custom field (order)

I've changed the setting in display / content menu's / resources-catalogue so that the the ordering field is set to "order" (my custom field)

But the returned searches are still listed by product code

I can't figure this one out....
