variants removed when main item removed

Hello Again,

after more exhaustive tests I have found something interesting happens as explained below.

I have some products setup with addons options and variants.

example: you can select to buy a computer and the addons would be ram and hdd

however at checkout you may want to remove the computer and keep the ram and hdd

what seems to be happening is.. if I remove the computer , it also removes the addons which is not deisred.

another thing is some products have addons which we would like to increase in terms of qty.

based on the same scenario above with computer for example.. 1 addon would be 2gb of ram and 1 500gb hdd

however Iam wondering if it is possible to have a qty field there where users can select [2] 2gb ram
or [3]500gb hdd's?

apart from that everything is coming along swimingly.

Hi,

If you remove the main product, it removes the options, it's normal because an option is attached to a product, if the product is removed ,so the options too.

To allow, for example, many hard drives your option product can be configured with characteristics, the add to the hdd product the variants 1x500, 2x500, ...
Then in the product page, when you choose hard drive you can select the number wanted.
