http://www.theodist.com/index.php/online-quote-request

I have created a module item and used the list feature to show all the categories for the site the links don't work they are linking to something else in the site.

Have i missed something?

How do i resolve this so that it points at the right category?

Hi,

1. Can you check it, without any SEF module enabled ?

2. Can you give me a link to that page for testing purpose ?

Thanks :).

Its something to do with SEF, as soon as your turn that off it works.

There needs to be a work around with SEF active, else i am going to be going around is a hell for the SEO and users

Ok,

Did you set the "menu" option of your Hikashop module ? Can you show me how did you configured your Hikashop module through some screenshots ?

Hi,

The "menu" option of modules allows you to configure on which menu item the links of your module are pointing to.
When SEF is activated, joomla needs that data to be able to translate the SEFed url and understand what component should be called.
If you configure a menu which doesn't exist anymore or which is not configured properly to display a listing of products, the links won't work.
So just sure that this option is configured with a valid menu item and the links of your module will then work properly.

Nicholas,
Do you have a step by step walk through of this process so i can make sure i am not missing anything?

Sure:

1. Make sure that you have a HikaShop categories listing menu item properly configured (ie. that you can see the categories when you click on the link of the menu item and then you can access the products from the categories) via the joomla menu manager. We have a tutorial on that here:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...html#categories_menu
2. Create your categories listing module and in the "menu" option of the module, select the menu item that you created on point 1. We actually also have a tutorial on that here:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...ml#categories_module
