-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.3
-- PHP version -- : 5.3

I'm getting the following error message from Amazon when I try to use the Amazon payment method:

Invalid Request - We cannot process your payment request because of an error. Please contact the website where you initiated this payment. Caller Input Exception: Caller key is invalid or malformed

I'm using sandbox api credentials in sandbox mode.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi,

Caller Input Exception: Caller key is invalid or malformed

Please check the configuration of your payment plugin, like the error message is telling you, the key is invalid.

Thanks for the reply. I dug a little deeper and found out I was trying to use API credentials from an Amazon Payments Advanced account instead of Flexible Payment Services

Hi,

@ssbuchan : Yes, The amazon payment method plugin is for Amazon FPS not "Checkout by Amazon".

@midjib : please make sure that you're using the credentials of Amazon FPS. You can contact Amazon's support for help on how to get the correct credentials for your account.

Do you have a plugin for "Checkout by Amazon"? That is the Amazon service I have.

They also have a new service called Login and Pay With Amazon

Amazon sent this announcement:

"Announcement: Amazon Flexible Payments Service (FPS) will be discontinued effective June 1, 2015. To learn about the Amazon FPS end-of-life plan and for information about migrating to Login and Pay with Amazon, read our FAQ."

Hello,

"Announcement: Amazon Flexible Payments Service (FPS) will be discontinued effective June 1, 2015. To learn about the Amazon FPS end-of-life plan and for information about migrating to Login and Pay with Amazon, read our FAQ."

We were aware of it, we asked them about a testing account be we didn't had one so continuing the new amazon integration was impossible.

No, But if you can have the developer documentation about that service and if you can temporary share with us your account so that we can do some testing, we'll be able to develop another Amazon during the next months.

Hello,

On our previous site, before switching to Joomla and Hikashop, our sales increased 60% when we started using "Checkout by Amazon". Since Hikashop doesn't have this payment method we are experience lower than expected sales upon launch of our new site.

Where is Hikashop at with getting this payment method integrated? We would sure like to use it again.

Let me know how we can assist in getting this going!

Thank you

We had more than issues when we tried to have a test account for Amazon and without documentation and test account, we won't be able to develop anything.

Hi,

I've just found this thread after trying to get the Amazon payments plugin to work and having the same problem.

So are we saying that the Amazon Payments plugin in Hikashop Business 2.6.0 does not work?

Surely if you want to develop a new plugin you just sign up to Amazon as a developer and use the sandbox, I don't see what the problem is?

Ian

Well, Amazon never approved our developer account or reply to our messages.
After 3 month and without any reply to our messages (and reminders) ; we just trashed the project at the bottom of the TODO list.

If you have a direct communication with Amazon and have the possibility to help us having a developer account.. We would be able to work.

The beauty of being based in France and trying to have developer accounts with US services.

Hi Jerome,

Firstly can I say it really isn't acceptable to leave a plugin called "Amazon Payments" in the package that doesn't work, with no indication that the service has been discontinued. My client suggested using Amazon payments and I looked through the payment methods and saw your plugin so I reported back to him that this was supported, we then spent nearly a day between us setting up an account and trying to make this work only to find we'd wasted our time. I've now got to go back to my client to say sorry this can't be done. A simple way of avoiding this situation would be to update the description of the plugin so that it says the fast pay service is no longer available.

I don't have direct contact with amazon but have sent their support a message asking if they can resolve this for you, failing that I'll set up an account of my own that I will share with you if you can give some assurance of timescale to progress this.

Hello Jerome,

Regarding:

"After 3 month and without any reply to our messages (and reminders) ; we just trashed the project at the bottom of the TODO list."

That is not true and there needs to be more internal communication at HikaShop. I gave one Philippe Lavocat access to our account months ago and he was working on the app until he said he needed to switch over to working on the new HikaShop update. Now the time has passed and Amazon is no longer using the "Checkout by Amazon" system and switching over to "Login and Pay with Amazon". Therefore all of this work and time has been wasted.

I highly suggest HikaShop get on board with the new Amazon payment system since it is so beneficial to companys, at least here in the USA. As I said at the beginning of this topic, our sales increased immensely on our old site when integrated with Amazon. If we can't get a plugin for "Login and Pay with Amazon" we are better off leaving HikaShop and finding a company that can integrate with Amazon.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi,

If we can have a developer account, we'll be happy to work on it.
I can't guarantee a timescale though. It depends on when you provide that account (we currently have other projects we're working on), if the integration goes smoothly or not, etc. But we'll do our best.

Hi Nicolas,

From what "SolarMade" has said you do have access to an Amazon account and work had already been started?

Also, as a heads up, ideally we are looking for a "Login and Pay" solution, so customers can use their amazon account to login to Hikashop and then pay.

Thanks

Ian

Hi,

I'll have to talk to Philippe about this on Monday. From what I can see on our project manager software the project was set on hold by Philippe 4 months ago with the reason "waiting update for the developer account from Brady".
So it seems there was a problem with the account or something preventing us to move forward.

Hello everybody,

Now, I'm back on the plugin development and have some new idea to end this.
But if someone have website with an SSL that I can use to process some test, can you tell me?

Because the main trouble to progress is that we must have a website with an SSL certificat.
Without it, it will be impossible to develop this plugin...

I hope to have some news tomorrow to solve all of this.

Hi Philip,

Amazon sandbox does not require SSL

payments.amazon.com/help/81779

Note: SSL restrictions don't apply in the Sandbox environment so integrations can be tested without a certificate.

An alternative would be to use a self signed certificate which would be ok for testing..
www.selfsignedcertificate.com/
A lot of hosting environments also let you generate your own certificates or come with default certificates for testing.

I have SSL certificates for my live sites but I can't use those for development (because they are live).

Regards,

Ian
