Customer Shipping Tracking

Can you please explain and and where I change this email and send manually?

I view the order by clicking on the order number in "orders" section of Hikashop.

I see a button that says "email" and I click it but all i get is a bounch of stuff in brackets...

"{address_company} {address_title} {address_firstname} {address_lastname} {address_street} {address_post_code} {address_city} {address_state} {address_country} Telephone: {address_telephone}"

and nowhere does it let me add anything, see the email being send or manually send it?

How do I do this?

Hi,

You should first (re)download HikaShop 2.3.3 in order to have the latest fixes for Joomla 3.3.4 - 3.3.6

Thank You!!!

I was starting to think I was losing my mind... The update fixed it and i see the full email and can tweak it to my needs for sending tracking!

Now, can you help me understand how I can get that tracking url or number into the "user account" of my site.. so once a customer logs in to their account and checks their order from my site they can see a tracking number?

Hi,

For the email, you have now the working tools to put the code directly in the email you want to send.

If you want to display such information in the front-end website, in the customer orders through his HikaShop customer dashboard ; like Mohamed or Xavier told you in the previous messages, the best is to use HikaShop business in order to have "order custom fields" feature.
Thanks to them, you will be able to create an order custom field for the tracking number ; to edit it in the HikaShop backend and display it in the front-end (and also directly in the emails).
The "order custom fields" has been made for such specific purpose: to extend the features of orders with something flexible.

If you don't want to use the "order custom fields", I'm afraid that you will need to create the column in the database and then, develop the system to edit the tracking number in the backend and display it in the front-end. It'll require php/development skills.
Because it's a big development, it's not something provided by our support ; we can help with small developments but not for such kind of big development ; more than that, the development is not required because the "order custom fields" already provide it.

Hi,

Yes, I have the email working to my needs.. Thanks...

So in order to be able to update a tracking on the front end of the site for my users to see when they login and check orders really the only way is to upgrade to business addition and use the "order field" correct?

I see in my account special pricing to extend my "essential for 2 years... if I was to upgrade eventually to business and extend it does it also have a price breakdown and if so what would it be?

Yes, the order custom fields are the best solution for your requirements.
In next HikaShop release ; we will introduce new features which will help you to have a better "shipping tracking number" feature ; where you will be able to easily hide the order custom field in the checkout (without having to override a view to enter the custom field namekey).

since it's release the new version , I wonder if it is stat introduced the function of sending tracking customer .... I would be very interested .... but I do not seem to see it as I do ?

Hi,

Unfortunately, the task in the TODO list called "[custom fields] extending the display" as not been include in HikaShop 2.3.5 but is currently schedule for HikaShop 2.4.0
With the current re-factoring of the HikaShop checkout (for a complete new system), the team preferred to not introduce such modification when the checkout views are being rewritten.

I'm very sorry for my previous post ; I was really thinking that the task in the TODO list will be completed for the next released.
I'll send a message to Nicolas to explain him that this feature could be very interesting ; maybe it could change his priority.
