Need to set up multiple taxes for one state

I talked to HikaShop's team at Joomla World Conf. this last weekend and they said it was being worked on but wasn't with taxcloud. I want to say it was Avalara but it was hard to hear.

My memory is a little fuzzy but I think they said Avalara was working on it as a 3rd party add-on.

Not sure if they are back from the conference yet, but I had a very pleasant sit down with them over dinner and I'm looking forward to more improvements.

Why I'd like it to be taxcloud just because I like their business model better, I'd take just about anything at this point.

I'm about to the point however where my company will pay HikaShop to add this if nothing comes by the Q1 2014. It is really that important in the US.

I knew you said someone else was doing to work but couldn't remember who.

I think I will go talk to them to see why they were going to Avalara. The problem I have with Avalara last I looked was they were very costly to even do just lookups (subscription base in the $1000x USD) vs. TaxCloud which is free (but charge if you did fillings through them - optional).

Still, something is better than nothing!

We have been working with Avalara and signed an exclusive partnership agreement with them this quarter, but with the release of a supported Taxcloud plugin for Hikashop, we're putting AvaTax development on hold indefinitely. Client interest had already been limited, and with a completely free solution now available as part of Hikashop, there just aren't many clients requesting AvaTax integration now.

I realize that TaxCloud only handles USA taxes, so if there are international clients using HikaShop who still want AvaTax integration (which is a paid service, not free), please do get in touch with us at Polished Geek. If there is sufficient interest, we'll certainly restart the project. (Sufficient interest would be a minimum of 15 - 20 people requesting it.)

I'm thrilled to report that after continued negotiations with various parties, Polished Geek has been officially commissioned to build an AvaTax connector for HikaShop / HikaMarket. Once built, the connector will be provided at no charge to Avalara customers who wish to use it with HikaShop or HikaMarket!

No estimated delivery date yet on this, as this new project now has to be slated into our existing project queue.
