2 problems with subscriptions

Hi,

I use Akeeba for subscriptions together with a modification that was written by Hikashop.
I Have 2 problems.

1
Whenever a subscription is sold I see 2 subscriptions added to the client. One is published. The unpublished one is apparently for a next subscription. The strange thing is that this second subscription also adds to the total sales. It is just that nobody paid for it so it gives a wrong idea of total sales. Is there a setting that I need to change in order to get this correct?

VAT of subscriptions is calculated correctly in the Hikashop invoice. Clients are directed to Paypal. Paypal only lets them pay the amount without the VAT they need to pay. So, having no other option, they pay without VAT, since that is what Paypal tells them to do. After payment is completed Payal does NOT return the orderstatus 'Completed' because a different amount was paid compared to the invoice. As a result of that the client does not get acces to their subscription.
What is going wrong here?

Hi,

1. Are you sure that the client didn't ordered the product twice ?

2. It's a strange thing, you are the first person who is reporting this issue. The prices given to PayPal are with VAT.
Can you check if there is any given informations in the payment log file in Congifuration > Main > Files ?

1. Yes I'm sure. It happens with every order. In my hikashop orderlist the order is shown/calculated once. In my Akeeba orderlist the order is shown/calculated twice.

2. There's no log report on the given location.

Hi,

1. Which plugin are you using ? "Akeebas" or "Akeebasubs" ?

2. I just checked in the HikaShop configuration and there is a payment log file at the indicated place.
In Configuration > Main > Files, "Payment log file", click on "see the report".

This is what I see when I ask to show the report
The log file is empty /var/www/vhosts/artlantismedia.com/httpdocs/media/com_hikashop/upload/safe/logs/report_969776576.log

Hi,

I think that the subscription is ordered twice and you are having an issue with paypal because the paypal plugin of akeeba subscription is enabled and selected in the option of the subscription level.

Thanks to not select it / disable it in order to only use the one of HikaShop, this way the correct amount will be sent, and the subscription should be registered only one time.

It took a while to get a new subscription. With the Akeeba paypal plugin deactivated the problems still persists.

VAT is calculated in th invoice. Client can only pay the invoie without VAT. After payment Paypal returns Order Cancelled because of invalid amount. I have a complaining customer, some explaining to do and manually getting the order confirmed.

Hi,

You are using the "akeebas" plugin and not the "akeebasubs" one.
The akeebasubs one has been developped by us, the second one not, this don't mean that akeebas is not a correct plugin, we validate it, it's just that it will require more time to review the code.

First of all, in the settings of the subscription levels in akeebas subscriptions I still see a price for each levels.

This price should be set in the HikaShop product, regarding this product thanks to indicate me which products have these subscriptions.

Well this is somewhat confusing to me. Akeebasubs is not short for Akeeba subscriptions? What is the difference? If another component is better I would be happy to use that one. Where/how to get it?

Anyway I seem to use Akeebas. I set up three levels: One month membership, 6 months membership and one year membership.
Accordingly I created 3 products in Hikashop carrying the same name. They can be found in the memberships category.

Is that the info you need. Please let me know if I have set up things wrongly.

Hi,

Yes akeebasubs is indeed short for Akeeba subscriptions.
You can still use Akeeba subscription component.

But regarding the plugins between HikaShop and Akeeba Subscriptions, there is two different one.
"Akeeba Subscriptions - HikaShop Integration" which is a plugin developed by our team and:
"Hikashop Akeeba Subscription Plugin Integration" developed by a third person and approved by us.

You are using the second one, we checked it but can potentially missed something.
In your current configuration, I still see prices in your product, that's ok, and prices in your subscription level set.
This don't seem to be correct, but I'm not sure. Please remove the prices in the subscription level and check the taxes settings in HikaShop.

Another solution could be that you try to use the first Akeeba plugin in this page and disable the other one.

I now installed the first plugin and activated it. The other one is deactivated.
Do I need to change settings somewhere?

Well, As a gift from heaven right after I installed and activated the other plugin somebody purchased a subscription and VAT was now calculated and paid correctly. PAypal returned the order 'Confirmed' .

Only......this costumer was not automatically added to the correct usergroup. I needed to do that manually.
So one problem solved......a new challenge arrived.

Regarding the second one, does the customer had only one product in the cart ? Or many products with many potential user groups ?

And what if you try with another payment method for another product which should assign a user group ?
This test will allow us to see if it's directly related to the subscriptions or if it's a more global issue.

Hi Xavier,

I performed the advised test.
My testuser purchased a one year subscription using another payment method.
After confirmation my testuser was not added to the supposed usergroup (member year).

Does this give you the information you need?
