-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : Vat amount not being displayed

Hi all,

Just today I noticed that all the product prices in my website are being displayed without VAT.....online users are able to buy products and their total amount is still without VAT. When I go to the backend > products I am seeing that all the prices are also without VAT. Having said that, when I access any product from the backend the price with VAT and price without VAT are both present.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi,

You're neither stating what your Joomla and HikaShop versions are, nor what your tax configuration is like (best with screenshots of everything relevant). Please amend to avoid guesswork.

Hikashop version: 2.3.5
Joomla: 3.3.6

Apologies about that.

I also managed to check the order history and apparently it working perfectly till a month ago...I guess there should be a button to disable the VAT or something. (cannot find it anywhere :/ )

Ok, without seeing your specific tax configurations one can only refer you to the documentation on taxes, e.g.

Note that the documentation main page has a search field near its top. Most likely very helpful for you to find what you're looking for if not in the links posted here. ;)

Thanks for that.

If I restore a backup of when everything was ok with regards to VAT, would I lose the orders I have since that say till today?

Obviously, restoring a site backup will replace your current site with whatever it was at the time of the backup, and whatever change or amendment was made since then will not exist - incl orders.
If everything else remained the same, you might be able to import order-related database tables from the current state to the restored one... something the "official" support team here can tell better.

Since you seemingly don't want to show your tax configuration here, but if you have a backup of "when everything was ok":
Why not first install the backup as a separate instance, e.g. on a local server or in a subdomain with your webhost, and compare all relevant configurations and settings "then" and "now"? After all, it is very likely that the issue is caused only by your configuration, and it shouldn't take long to find out.

Thanks for the information lousyfool. Following deeper investigation by my end I noticed that this happened only once. Apparently this particular used managed to make an order without the VAT. Now sure how he managed tbh.

I created a test user with the same address and same everything, bought the same item and I did not manage to reproduce this issue.

Any ideas? Thanks

When you said in your first post,

... all the product prices in my website are being displayed without VAT.....online users are able to buy products and their total amount is still without VAT.

it sure didn't sound like a single case with a single user, but rather as everything "tax" was suddenly a big mess.

Any ideas how a single case could "slip through" when you're unable to reproduce it under the very same conditions as him? Hardly. And certainly not without knowing all relevant details of your system. Which, in fact, remain completely unknown.

Sorry about that but that is what my customer had told me over the phone. Now that I have the time to check it myself I can troubleshoot it further. Any idea how I can set up hikashop to ignore the VAT amount and always display the a specific amount?

i.e. if the my customer is selling an item for 1000 euro I don't want this to change with VAT. I need all items to show the same price no matter what the country he's from.

Thanks

Look, this thread is getting long, except still no one knows what it's exactly about - much you don't tell.

Wherever you are based (= unknown), I'm sure your legislation enforces some tax laws (you're referring to VAT), eventually depending on where your customer is based. Typically, you can set up HikaShop accordingly - by following the documentation and hints as provided above.

If you have any issues with it, best open a new thread, and tell the complete story: where you are, what your exact requirements are, what exactly your present configuration is (screenshots), and what your exact issue is. Everything less is impossible to deal with. Thanks!

Hi,

i.e. if the my customer is selling an item for 1000 euro I don't want this to change with VAT. I need all items to show the same price no matter what the country he's from.

You can do that by turning on the "floating tax prices" option of the HikaShop configuration.

@zsenya : Please re-download HikaShop 2.4.0 and then re-save your configuration for the setting "main tax category" in the HikaShop configuration. There was an issue with the first version of the package where the setting store the zone namekey instead of the zone id.

Hi,

Make sure that you select a tax category in your products. And make sure that you delete the "customer type" selection of your tax rule.
It will then work properly.
I've done it for you for that product and it is working:
/plussallat-kategoria-lista/product/2214-pluss-meduza-narancs-25cm
