Does the TaxCloud integration show the tax breakdown on the HikaShop reports?(state, local, city, special).
If not:
Is it possible to charge more than one tax rate per product? My client would like to have all 4 of the tax rates (state, local, city, special) added independently. Normally US sales taxes are set up as in HikaShop as one collective rate (say 10%). Which we have done. But for tax reporting this is too difficult. They'd like me to add in four of them that will charge, ultimately, the 10%, but will report independently. The only way I could think of making this work would be to either add in four rates, all charged at checkout per order, or to use TaxCloud. The problem with TaxCloud is that the reporting would have to be pulled partially from HikaShop and partially from the TaxCloud site if the HikaShop reports don't reflect the tax breakdown..

Hi,

I don't understand why you say that if you use TaxCloud, the reporting would have to be pulled from both HikaShop and TaxCloud ?
When you use TaxCloud, all the taxes (state, local, city, etc) are calculated automatically and shown as a break down on the order/invoice/checkout. Then, when you pay the order, HikaShop sends all tax information to TaxCloud and TaxCloud even has a system to automatically submit the tax reports for you and that doesn't cost anything.
So there should be no need to pull anything for HikaShop if you use TaxCloud.

The client has to produce weekly sales report. He would like to create a report from HikaShop with that tax breakdown. So are you saying that the reports generated from HikaShop do show the State, County, City, and Municipality separately?

Yes and No.
HikaShop does have a report of the taxes that you can configure by period, order status etc. But that only works when you configure the taxes in HikaShop.
If you let TaxCloud handle that for you, HikaShop doesn't have that information stored. You'll be able to get sales reports in HikaShop but no tax breakdown.

Ok, no problem. So I guess that brings me back to the first question. Is it possible to configure HikaShop to collect more than one tax from the cart?

Sure.
That's not a problem.
You can turn on the "cumulative tax" setting of your tax rules when you configure them via the menu System>Taxes. That way, if several tax rules match the current situation, HikaShop will apply them all instead of applying only the first matching one.

sorry, I am a little late on this thread. weekly reports are available from TaxCloud, but will not include jurisdiction detail until the end of a month (for that month of activity) ;)
