Hi,
Now I'm working to add an english version, multilanguage, on my site now on Joomla 2.5.
I'm working to duplicate the menu, the categories, the articles etc etc.
But how about hikashop?
I can't find a way to set the languages on the products and categories just like with the joomla articles.
I read that I need to have jommfish (not yet available) or falang.
I think that the translations are automatic and therefore they can not be perfect.
I want to translate all the contents of the products manually.
How can I do?

Hi,

You indeed need to install Falang. The translations are NOT automatic. Once you install Falang, you will need to install HikaShop again in order to have the integration files installed.
Then, you will be able to activate the translations edition interface in HikaShop under the Languages tab of the configuration.

So, you mean that
if I'd like to use the native multilanguage system of Joomla on Hikashop have I to install anyway Falang?
And then can I translate manually the description of products on Hikashop? So, in my case, I'll have two version of product, one in italian and one in english. Isn't it?

Please, be patient with me. I'm not good.
Thanks

You'll need falang yes.
And not, it won't create two different products. You'll have only one product, with translations attached to it.

Ok, thanks!
So, If I understand well now, with Falang, I don't need to use the native multilanguage of Joomla.
I can use Falang for all the site. Isn't it?

yes, you can also use it to translate joomla articles and modules and menus, etc. But you can also use joomla's multilingual feature if you want.

Hi,
I've installed FaLang.
From the main control pannel of Falang I'm not be able to manage Hikashop.
From the product description I can translate it.
But when i go to the frontend and I click on the translated language flag I don't see the translation, I see the original language.
If you like to see that here the link:

www.lacasettabio.it/categorie-prodotti/prodotto/6-ceci-vendita

PS: I translated only that product.

PS2: I left turn on the multilanguage system of Joomla.

PS3: I also reinstalled hikashop 1.5.7 above to the existing

That's because the integration files where not installed. Normally, that should happen if you install HikaShop after falang.
Otherwise, you can copy the files of the folder administrator/components/com_hikashop/falang to administrator/components/com_falang/contentelements.

You probably have an access right issue in that folder then and joomla wasn't able to copy the new files in the folder with you installed it again.
You can take the files from the install package then. It's the folder back/falang.

Please make sure that you see the translations in Falang's back end. If that's the case, then it means that Falang is not configured properly if you don't see the translations on the front end when you change the language.

On control pannel of Falang if I click on translation and select content i can see all my articles (obviously not translated).
But there is no trace of products of Hikashop.
I see my translation only if I edit the description of my Hikashop products.

Then it means that the content elements xml files are not copied properly into the folder administrator/components/com_falang/contentelements
Can you do a screenshot of that folder ?
