Product Options & Dreaded "Limit Reached"

Hi

I've got a product and severa product options configured... Our customers may have 2 or more kids that want to sign up and they want to use the SAME values for each kid. However, when they do so we get the dreaded "Limit Reached..." error message. Now if you just put in the exact same values for all fields, then the quantity simply updates. It's when you have different value for "child name" or other "custom fields" but then use the SAME product options.

I've made sure of the following:

All products, options, and characteristics have
Quantity = unlimited
Minimum quantity per order = 0 (also tried 1)
Maximum quantity per order = unlimited

Site config
Maximum number of items in the cart = 99 (default was 0)

In the example below, the top 4 items are "custom fields" and the bottom 4 are the product options.

Not that I know of - other than the product detail page (values displayed above) - where would I go to set "Product Limits"

There is a "limit" button on the products listing to configure that.

These can also produce that error.

I see now (top right buttons)... There are NO limits configured for any products. Probably cuz I never knew they existed ;-)

Ok... some more intel on this issue

www.silverknightschess.com/clubs/anne-ar...hildren-s-house.html

The scenario is something like this: A parent wants to sign two kids up for lesson. The product has a mix of custom fields and product options. The child's name will be the ONLY difference in the two items added to the order.

Child Name (varies)
Parent Name: Bob
Grade: 8
Purchase Chess set: Yes (+$25)
Method of Pickup: Parent Pickup

Add to cart... then continue shopping and use the same values but change the child name. This is where you get the "Limit Reached" error. Viewing the cart will show the two products added - and the second one missing any/all product options.

Now in the cart add 0 to the quantities and update cart - to empty and reset

Here's where it gets interesting...
In /administrator/components/com_hikashop/classes/cart.php if I comment out everything in the function _checkQuantity and repeat the above steps...
a) I don't get any error messages
b) the items are still "missing" from the second product.
c) BUT the first product appears to now have + $25 added.

So it appears that the cart is trying to add the product options to the first product because they are not staying "stuck" to the new product added and are thinking that they should just increase count on the first. it seems the "LIMIT_REACHED" message makes sense because it's the "else" message and we're it's not finding an item in the cart to attach these options to. Make sense..?

Just tried... but the page just refreshes. There's no action url on that form. I'm guessing you're not getting many donations from there. :-(

Indeed. It seems that the link in the form is removed by the text editor.
We'll remove it then.

Instead, you can simply make a donation via your paypal account to hikari DOT software AT gmail DOT com

Hello Nicolas

It looks like this issue (or something similar) has returned with the latest release.

www.silverknightschess.com/clubs/alexand...ementary-school.html

Add a product to the cart, go directly to cart and it will tell you that the options (last two dropdown items) are not available.

Any ideas...?

That's probably a setting issue.

We actually fixed the fact that you would still be able to add options without a price even though the option "display add to cart button for free products" was turned off.
Make sure that this option is turned on and it should work.

Viola' - "Display 'add to cart' button for free products" = Yes

That was the missing (not-so-secret) setting. Thank you much for the speedy support!
