Joomla 5.0.1 is already there. HikaShop as well gets a new version with the release of the 5.0.1. In includes mainly fixes and improvements, but there are also a few surprises!
With this version, HikaShop supports the dark mode on Joomla 5's backend,
we switched from ShadowBox to the more modern FancyBox, and we have improved the carousel system
If you upgraded to Joomla 5 and your computer is configured with the dark mode activated, you should have noticed that the backend interfaces of Joomla are now in dark mode too. With version 5.0.1 HikaShop also supports it on Joomla 5. You will now be able to have all your HikaShop interfaces in the backend matching with the Joomla 5 backend in dark mode!
We used ShadowBox to handle the display of the product images when you click on an image on the product details page of the frontend. This popup gallery library is not supported anymore and doesn't support new mechanism like swapping on smartphones, new image formats, etc. So it was time we replaced it. HikaShop 5.0.1 now comes with Fancy Box. It is a modern popup gallery library, with all the bells and whistles, and is one of the main ones out there. On top of it, it doesn't rely on JQuery, so no compatibility issue with other extensions. This development will greatly improve the user experience on the product details page for your customers, especially if you have many images for your products!
The carousel system in HikaShop has recently evolved, switching from the old Owl-carousel to the new Swiper carousel with the 5.0.0. However, there were still many display issues with the new system, especially with the carousel pagination. This new version of HikaShop greatly improves this, and also introduces a new carousel option, now possible thanks to the extra capabilities of Swiper.
