Morgan S 08:48:14 am Hi David, how can I help ? You 08:48:24 am Hi Morgan, I need some guidance with our Joomla sites. We have Hikashop Business installed on both our live J2.5.28 and dev J3.4.3 sites. In both cases we have trialled their built in eWay plugin that is designed to be used on https sites, but we don't want to have the PCI compliance burden so are not trying to move to your eWay Rapid plugin. Hikashop tells me that you developed this rather than them. I am having a problem installing the Rapid zip file that Hikashop provided. So are -now- trying to move... eWayRapidInstallProblem.PNG Morgan S 08:55:39 am Hi David, as far as I am aware the Plugin was not developed developed by our team but should come pre installed with Hikashop ready to go, I am checking with our partner team for you to see what the problem might be You 08:56:04 am Thaanks Morgan S 08:59:40 am Okay so I have just checked and the only integration we were aware they had was using one of our older API's not Rapid 3.1 , however our partner team are going to reach out to them and confirm so we can update our site to include the rapid module that it looks like they have built and provided to you looking at your screenshot of the error it looks like they may have given you a bad file address for the install of their newer plugin module so I would recommend double checking with HikaShop that the install directory is correct and that there are no other issues You 09:02:04 am am trying to check with them as well but their turnaround is often overnight, and they seemed to suggest you had provided it and so I thought I would try you direct.... Morgan S 09:03:23 am Okay, unfortunately we were not aware they had a Rapid Plugin built, but our partner team will be able to confirm with them shortly You 09:03:27 am I am also interested in the Rapid plugin's compatibility with J3.4. Hikashop mentioned "The XML is not compatible with Joomla 3 but the code seems to be ok. So for an install on J3 ; it will requires some modifications in the XML file (or a new XML file)." Should have given you the URL for this Hikashop conversation - http://www.hikashop.com/support/forum/payment-methods/878799-how-secure-is-credit-card-info-in-eway-plugin.html#212090 Morgan S 09:11:31 am Hmm looking at the conversation between yourself and the Hikashop moderators it appears that they have been working on a module that uses our Rapid 3.1 Responsive Shared Page (an eWAY payment Page that customers are redirected to) further to that it looks like the file they gave you for the plugin is only compatible with a few versions of Joomla, so you may need to either revert Joomla or explore options with Hikashop in regards to updating the XML for you so that it works with the versions you are using You 09:13:27 am Thanks. Can I clarify the various roles here? I take it that you see that you might support Hikashop developers but that they are responsible for any eWay payment method plugin they might provide. Is that your understanding? Morgan S 09:16:35 am Yes essentially we can provide some support through our partner team to software developers of eCommerce platforms, carts and some Content Managers and assist them in integrating our API's which are related to our different payment methods - for some carts we have actively built modules such as the official magento plugin but in most instances third parties have constructed plugins or modules around our sample code using our API's and the assistance/guidance of our partner team - because of this it is harder for our support to assist with module issues as we haven't built them ourselves You 09:18:11 am Thanks for the clarification. From Hikashop I had the impression you had written and provided the eWay Rapid plugin, as it was not publicly provided for download on their site. I will refer this back to them and hope they will be able to meet our needs. Morgan S 09:18:36 am Okay, was there anything else I could help with while you are here ? You 09:19:24 am Not unless you can provide any input or comment about the Rapid Responsive Page approach's compatibility with J3.4 And I guess I should mention that we have already the Responsive Page approach working on our site for our Virtuemart shop. I don't suppose that gives us an easy way to have Hikashop use the plugin that Virtuemart uses without getting confused? Morgan S 09:24:07 am Unfortunately not, both will use similar files to communicate with our API's but you would run into a similar issue to the one you just had where it is not compatible with your version of Joomla/Hikashop the best thing would be for Hikashop to modify the XML for the Rapid 3.1 plugin so that it is compatible with later versions - as they said there isn't much wrong with the file its just a compatibility issue that needs some minor modifications to get around, which should be something they can do without to much trouble You 09:24:47 am OK - thanks for your guidance and time.
