Here, you will find all required rules to communicate by following HikaShop protected Trademark standards. The aim is to enable people who develop Hikashop related extensions, plugin, add-on etc... to be able to correctly use the image of our logo without violating the Trademark.

Basic Rules

What is a Trademark ?

It's a "recognizable sign, design, or expression which identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others". In other words, the point is to be able to easily identify products and services so that they can be linked to the Trademark owner. In our specific case, HikaShop Trademark is own by Hikari Software, and only our work can use our sign.

Of course, all of this doesn't mean you can't use our logo and HikaShop name, but you have to contact us in order to understand the context and conditions to use them. We have lots of partners that use our logo and name, they speak about us, create links to our website, write some tutorials or articles on ours products.

But we can not allow anyone to use our name or our logo as they are on another product or service, even more so if you sell them, (even if they are based on HikaShop). Let's see a concrete example :

Forbiden :

You can't sell or distribute your own products or services with an ambiguous identity with our name and logo, that may confuse customers about your company and ourself. Especially if you worked on your side without talking about it with us !

Valid :

You can use our name and logo after exchanging with us. From our side, the goal is to keep the control of our image.

You can also develop your own extension, plugin or addon based on or integrated with HikaShop and use our graphic elements in it and even as part of your logo. With this, each company will keep its own identity, and customers will understand that there are two different companies with their own products and services.
