Hi,

There is indeed no RSS feed in HikaShop.
Ninja RSS is a RSS component which can only handle joomla articles and categories so that's normal you don't get HikaShop stuff in there.

We add that to the todo list. You're the first person asking about RSS feed for HikaShop so for now this feature is a low priority for us.

I see now that Hika Shop has an RSS/Atom Feed option under "Configuration" and "Display."

However, I'm unclear how to use it correctly.

Right now I'm just using the built in RSS Syndicate feed Joomla offers on this page:
www.therollerskate.com/photos/all-photos

But it doesn't supply the images.

I'm hoping the Hika Shop one will.

That RSS feed IS the HikaShop RSS feed :)

Indeed the URL of images thumbnails is broken. It 's because of a modification we made in the latest version to be able to personalize images sizes more easy and more dynamically.

Please edit the file components/com_hikashop/views/product/view.feed.php and change the line:
$description = '<table><tr><td><img src="'.JURI::base().$this->uploadFolder_url.($this->thumbnail?'thumbnail/':'').$product->images[0]->file_path.'" width='. $this->main_thumbnail_x.' height='. $this->main_thumbnail_y.' /></td><td>'.$desc.'</td></tr></table>';

to:
$imageHelper = hikashop_get('helper.image');
$description = '<table><tr><td>'.$imageHelper->display(@$product->images[0]->file_path,false,$title, '' , '' , $imageHelper->main_thumbnail_x, $imageHelper->main_thumbnail_y).'</td><td>'.$desc.'</td></tr></table>';

And then edit the file administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/image.php and change the line:
$this->uploadFolder_url = JURI::base(true).'/'.$this->uploadFolder_url;
to:
$this->uploadFolder_url = JURI::base().$this->uploadFolder_url;

That should fix the problem.

I might tackle this, but before I do, will this take away the ability to change the sizes of the images more dynamically? Because that has been very helpful.

Alrighty, I edited my .php file, I think I got the right text in there correctly. However, I don't see any images on the feed yet. Does it just take a while?

No, your modification wasn't taken into account. So maybe you didn't do it right ?
Since then, we released a new version of HikaShop so you could just update and it would fix the problem.

Hi,

1. Please provide your version number and a link to the feed.
On our end we still have the images in the feed:
take.ms/TiEFF

2. The ordering of the items displayed in it depends on how you configured the setting "Ordering field" in the "Atom & RSS feed" section of the HikaShop configuration.

Hi,

Look at my screenshot again on the description lines. You'll find img tags in there for the images.

Your screenshot is not a screenshot of a feed. It doesn't have any tags from a feed (like my screenshot do) so I don't know how you did your screenshot.
As I asked in my previous message, please provide a link to the feed so that we can check on that ourselves.

Dear Nicolas

this is the feed link dreamzfashion.com.my/hidden-ladies/type-rss?format=feed

i still dun see a image item in your screen shot, i can only found the image url in the description item, if you are talking about this

normar feed reader can not extract image from a whole description, they need image to be pass separately

Hi,

Here is your feed on feedly: take.ms/3bSnn
That's the most used feed reader out there and as you can see, the images are displayed just fine.
No I don't think that the problems in your feed are with the images but with the additional javascript tags that are added in the middle and the links to the products that are not valid for some reason:
take.ms/30bBK
It might be why your reader doesn't display the images.
For the javascript tags, they apparently come from the plugin equalheights you're using which shouldn't do anything on feed pages.
