Setting up a event as a product

Can you give me some guidance on how to set up a event (selling tickets) as a product. We need to limit the number of tickets available in each section of the event.

For example the event as a whole will have 250 tickets available, but we need 100 in the North Room, 100 in the South room and 50 on the Balcony.

I would recommend to create a product with a characteristic "seat" which would have one value per room type (north room, south room, etc). Then, via the "manage variants" button, you can configure the quantity of each room.
