Hide product code

I'd like to hide the product code and only display the product name in my store. Right now, when I create a product, it displays the product name, followed by the code. Is there any way to change this?

You can edit the file show (show_default since 1.5.6) of the view product via the menu Display>Views and remove the lines:
echo $this->element->product_code;
and:
echo $variant->product_code;
