As someone was on it, we didn't start anything yet.

It sure is technically possible to develop such plugin for HikaShop.

We can't do all the payment plugins requested by everyone on our end. Payment plugins are one of the things that can easily be done by 3rd party developers.
It would be great if we could find an easy way for everyone interested to contribute to the development of such plugin by a 3rd party. We would be ok to contribute too.

I too would like a PayPal Advanced plug-in. PayPal Advanced is a pretty good option since it is only $5/month and PayPal Pro is $30/month. Plus, the buyer can stay on my website.

I realize you can't do everything, but I wish HikaShop had a few more programmers to keep up with some of the big changes in eCommerce. Using PayPal Advanced instead of PayPal Pro seems like a significant option for many.

It seems like many are willing to put money toward it. Could you not write it and sell it as an addon?

Our aim is to provide a cheap solution for small businesses in need of an ecommerce solution.
So we try to avoid having paying plugins for everything like you find with many other shopping carts.
We indeed received a few requests for PayPal Payment advanced and it is on our todo list, like 50 other payment plugins requests.
And so, we're adding payment plugins to HikaShop in almost every release of HikaShop... With 2.1.1 we added the Ogone plugin which is used by all banks in Belgium, with 2.1.0 we added the PostFinance plugin which is used by lot of people in Switzerland, in 2.0.0, we added the PayPal recurring payment plugin which is used a lot for subscriptions...
We are currently working on two other payment plugins (amazon, MIGS VPC pay) and we're improving all the payment system in HikaShop to handle multi payments.

Nevertheless, here are several developers out there already developing payment plugins for HikaShop so why not ask them to see if they could develop it for you ?
For example, webIT has developed 5 payment plugins for HikaShop recently and they have a special page on their website to request payment plugins:
www.webit.bz/-i-14.html
PolishedGeek has also developed payment plugins for HikaShop and you can ask them.

I think part of the problem is you seem to be more focused on European solutions, and I need more solutions for USA. Again, I realize you can't please everyone in the world. Like all good businesses, you have to focus and do a great job in a specific area instead of an OK job in all areas.

Which of the payment options are specific to the USA. I realize Authorize.net and PolishGeek are. Are there others?

We focused a lot on the USA actually...
PayJunction, Authorize.net, FirstData and Intuit innovative Gateway and all payment plugin that we made and which work exclusively for the USA market.
On top of that, there are many other payment plugins we made which work for USA as well as other countries. Even PayPal Pro is only available for the USA, Canada and the UK.

I have paypal business account; and I have used API Keys (username, password and signature) in vm joomla paypal plugin. But I did not find these options in HikaShop paypal plugin (standard). I just had to put an email address. Please suggest if I am doing something wrong. Thanks. Hossain

No. API keys are only needed for PayPal Pro.
