Hi,

The "double validation" is link to a problem with the canada post plugin.
I will forward the bug to the person in charge of the development of this plugin.

Hi Jerome,

Thanks for the info. When you say "double validation", are you referring to the XML error or the need to click on Next twice after login?

Hi,

"Double validation" is the "click twice on the next button".
The XML error is, I think, link with this problem. The plugin reject something and it forward the customer to the previous page.

Hi,

Regarding the Canada post shipping method, I've done some tests and it's working fine for us and through your web site.

Regarding the "group package" feature, your number of packages will be automatically established with Box dimensions.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for taking a look at this again. Can you give me some details about what you did or didn't do with the configuration while testing because I still get an XML error with Canada Post when both of the following are true

My HikaShop account has more than one shipping address, and

At the address step of checkout, I select a different shipping address then click Next.

Hi,

I've fixed some problem regarding the "-5000 error" can you test it with this last version of the canada post shipping method ?

Hi Mohamed,

I installed the new version of the plugin and still get the same error under the same circumstances. But now sometimes when I select a new shipping address, then click next, the address selection switches back to the first one and I stay at the address step of checkout. This is something new.

Just to be sure, is it possible to verify which version of that plugin is in use?

Thanks.

Dave

Hi av.opticom,

I have tested the last version of the canada post plugin in the test website that you gave me and it seems to be working fine, so can you :
- Tell me exactly what the error message is.
- Reupload the last canada post package that I gave you and tell me if it's working.

Thanks :).

Hi Mohamed,

The error message is: Error while sending XML to CANADA POST. Error code: -5000. Message: XML parsing error. There's a screen shot in my post from a few days ago.

I installed the most recent version of the website and the Canada Post plugin at the test site. Unfortunately I'm still getting the same error. Please create a customer account with two addresses to duplicate the error when switching shipping address at checkout.

On the live site I went back to the previous version of CP plugin because there is an additional problem with the new version. When selecting a different shipping address by radio button then clicking Next, the newly selected address changes back to the first one.

Dave

Hi Mohamed,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Yes, the XML error is fixed, but there is still the problem where selecting a new shipping address at checkout switches back to the original address when the Next button is clicked. After a second selection of the new address, Next must be clicked twice. The strange thing is that every once in a while things seem to work properly or one of the two symptoms disappears, but it seems random to me (not related something like order of selections/steps or some other user process).

I haven't changed anything on the test site since you did the last fix.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I tested it on my end and it's seems to be working fine with the last version of canadapost. can you test it just with one step in your checkout workflow ? ("Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout").

Hi Mohamed,

My sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to this problem. I've now tried your suggestion of one-step checkout, which I couldn't actually do because there seems to be a limit of 4 actions per step. Even so, a two step checkout like this

1. Login, Address, Shipping, Terms
2. Cart, Payment, Status

seems to be working so far. And in fact, I think I like the look and flow of this version better!

Because the original problem wasn't a major one, and because the first couple of fixes weren't quite right, I continued to develop the main site with the original plug-in. Could you now provide me with the version that is installed on the test site, or a more recent version? I'll install it on the live site and continue testing.

Thanks again!

Dave

One last question on this: Is it sufficient to just copy the files in the ZIP archive to the appropriate directory, or is the Extension Manager needed to properly install something like this?

You'll have to do it through the extension manager :).

Hi all...any help would be greatly appreciated:

1: When I check the shipping rates at canada post...using the same weights and dimensions inputted in Hika, the rates are usually less on Hika.

2: Not all available shipping methods are listed on Hika...even thought there are several more (usually) shown on the Canada Post web site.

Any help in cleaning this problem up would be appreciated!

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

1. Are you using the group package option ?

2, it's probably coming from your Canada post account, If you want to, I can test it and use my own Canada post ID through your website, I'll just need you to send me a temporary access to your back-end through a Private message.

Also can you download the last version of Hikashop, install it and test it again ?

Thanks :).
